Study abroad in our innovative multidisciplinary Program in University City of Madrid, Spain
From 14 to 25 July 2025 (or from 30 June to 25 July 2025)
Spain Center for International Education (SpaCIE) launched the Summer School “A Multidisciplinary Approach to Climate Change” (CCSS) in 2021. The CCSS is a unique opportunity to broaden your knowledge by attending classes with world-class university professors and expand your horizons in one of the most beautiful and lively cities in the world.
Don’t miss the chance to embark on the 5th edition of the CCSS, a journey that can change your life! Gain new perspectives on humanity’s most pressing problem, on your studies and on your career. Make new friends from all over the world. Immerse yourself in Spanish culture, cuisine, and life. And, in the process, discover something new about yourself.
Enroll in an exclusive 2-week study program (with a workload equivalent to 3 ECTS credits) that offers a high-quality multidisciplinary course, taught in English by leading professors from numerous disciplines (Art, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Economics, Engineering, Geography, Humanities, Law, Physics, Political Science, and Sociology) and by the best professionals in the business world.
4-week Program
You can also follow a 4-week study program (with a workload equivalent to 6 ECTS credits) by taking one of the following courses from June 30 to July 11, 2025:
- Our Skills Summer School. This is a good option for students interested in improving their writing and speaking skills to succeed in their academic and professional careers.
- Environmental Economics and Policy Analysis: The Theory of Externalities and the Economics of Pollution Control from our partner UAM’s Summer School of Economics and Business. This 3 ECTS credit course is organized entirely by UAM without our participation but is open to our students. It would be a great complement to the university-level climate change overview of our 2-week curriculum by providing an in-depth preview of the economic analysis of environmental policies with two additional initial weeks. This is a good introduction for students interested in the economics of climate change.
Other features of the Climate Change Summer School
The CCSS is a truly international program that brings together students from all over the world, as well as some local students. The course is complemented by academic visits and cultural and social events.
The CCSS will take place at University City of Madrid (Ciudad Universitaria). Ciudad Universitaria is a university campus located in the Madrid neighborhood of the same name. It has had the status of cultural heritage since 1999, with the category of historical site. The campus is shared by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (where our classes take place), and the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), as well as other institutions such as the Center for Energy, Environment and Technology Research (CIEMAT).
You can live on campus if you wish, in one of the many student residences nearby. You will be able to enjoy full board and room at very reasonable prices, being 3 to 9 minutes walking distance from our classrooms, depending on the residence chosen. And you will be able to enjoy all kinds of complementary facilities, such as swimming pool, gym… depending on the residence chosen. In addition, the Campus is also within walking distance of everything you want to enjoy in the city, as well as the subway, parks… It’s great to enjoy Madrid!
